In Recovery Since 10/8/2013

On October 7, 2013, I [used] for the last time. I was arrested in Stone County Missouri. This was the first time I admitted I needed help. I was offered Treatment Court and I graduated Oct 13, 2015. Through treatment I found 12 step programs of AA and NA. I also completed MRSSP training. I have worked in the field of Recovery since 2014 and have added several credentials such as CPS, MPS, MARS, and CRPR. Today I am part of the CIT, Own It, MCRSP, MO Taney and Stone County Health Coalition. I currently am employed by Dynamic New Visions as the Certified Peer Specialist, and I am the Founder/Director of Stone County Recovery Center in Reeds Spring Missouri. I am a [person in long term recovery] and stay focused by trying to give back to my community. I attend both AA and NA programs. Recently I received the award for Meritorious Achievement from the Missouri House of Representatives and Volunteer of the year 2022 from the Lions Club. Being in Recovery has given my life back to me. My family speaks to me, I have grandkids in my life. I have been homeless, dine and dashed, been cold and hungry. I was hopeless. I now hold my head up. Have a home, pay bills, car, and my life. People can and do recover!
