In Recovery Since 2/25/2022

My name is Charles, I’ve been using substances for over 20 years off and on.  In February of 2022 I had a bad reoccurrence then I was arrested.  I realized I needed to change my life and seek God! I hit my knees and I prayed for God to change me and change my ways.  I came to a sober living house called Mission Gate in July where I am growing closer to the Lord where I can be in my recovery and where I have great people around me. It is now, that I have finally learned that when a person truly wants to change, they will make the necessary changes to make that change. Until a person is ready you cannot force them, but I am ready for my change, and I am slowly changing.  My life is amazing in recovery when I am clear minded, I am able to make the correct choices as long as I seek God first. For some people, religion may not work to be in recovery but for me it did.  I have started to rebuild all my broken relationships and life couldn’t be any better.  I am so blessed to even be on this Earth, and it is only by the grace of God that I am here.  I have goals of being a substance use counselor and helping others where I believe that the Lord has put me in my current situation.  I can reach for my goals in recovery, recovery life is great ~ WE DO RECOVER ~
