Christa Harmon, MRSS, MPS, MARS
Christa Harmon joined MCRSP in the position of administrative assistant in December 2021. In this capacity, she coordinates MCRSP’s outreach activities, including its web site resources, social media, membership, and training events. Christa is a mother of three of which one suffers from a substance use disorder (SUD). Upon the discovery of her daughter’s SUD, she became very vocal on the subject.
Christa formed a non-profit organization, Mid-MO Addiction Awareness Group (MAAG) to raise awareness, increase education and stop the stigma that surrounds substance use disorder. She is credentialed through the Missouri Credentialing Board as a Medication Awareness Recovery Specialist (MARS), Missouri Recovery Support Specialist (MRSS) and Missouri Prevention Specialist (MPS). She is also certified to teach “Seeking Safety,” an evidence-based treatment for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance use. Christa is a member of the State Advisory Council (SAC) of the Division of Behavioral Health, Missouri Department of Mental Health, and serves on the board of directors of the Missouri Addiction Counselors Association (MACA).
